We've been here 3 times now. The food has been great each time. Service has been inconsistent. On this last visit, there was a private party taking place and it was obviously affecting service at regular tables.
Thank you for the Happy Anniversary on the dessert plate!
Although I dine here often I never tried the Sunday Brunch and I was not disappointed. The menu options were great and as usual the chef's creativity was present amongst all the dishes. The Italian breakfast amazing. The poached eggs perfect and the creamy polenta with the grilled mortadella divine! The Gravalax first course was very good and the pork dish excellent. We had a birthday to celebrate and Heather sent out a beautiful birthday plate with her delicious berry cobbler and semifreddo. The service was perfect as usual and I will certainly be coming back to eat my way through the brunch menu!!
By far the best restaurant we've found in Westchester, with New York-quality food in terms of inventiveness, presentation and taste. Truly excellent food, not just "excellent for Westchester" food. The only drawback here is the noise level. When the restaurant is full, it is very, very loud, to the point where you're straining to hear the people at your own table.
Has not been beee in a while & was pleasantly surprised at the expanded & diverse menu. We started with the baked clams which were sweet & flavorful and the special burrata & sun dried tomatoes, also a great combination of creamy goodness & intense tomato flavor. I had the red snapper fish special. Very fresh and cooked perfectly.
We've always had excellent food and service at L'nizio. We eagerly return whenever we're in town.
L'Inizio must surely be one of the very best Italian restaurants in Westchester County. Located in the center of Ardsley, the space is small but attractive, with a separate bar area. Along with a few daily specials, the menu is small, inventive, and reasonably priced. Our salads, entrees and desserts were simply terrific. Don't go here if you like pretentious environments or routine red sauce Italian.
Greatttttttttttttttt
From the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends. The somalier was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, tasty and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and although they were quite busy we never felt rushed.
Amazing vibe, food & service. Had the halibut with pea puree and it was cooked to perfection.
Although the menu is very limited (also did not have our first 2 choices of wine,) the food was very good and overall we spent a good evening with friends.
Adorable spot, delicious food. Diverse and interesting menu. We were there for 4 hours, and they didn't even flinch. Great experience. The Brussels Sprouts were spot on.
Great service and hospitality. The salads were fantastic. All food was tasty, well prepared, and well presented.
My halibut was dry and salty. Despite asking for the salad without dressing , it came drenched in the dressing. Not acceptable.
Excellent experience. Staff was lovely. Food was exceptional
Have been going to Linizio' s for several years now, every time the food is delicious, fresh, creative. One of my favorite spots in Westchester.
Have been there before ,this time our dishes were not as usual
The owner was there to greet us and exude hospitality. Food was original and obviously very fresh.
Nice crowd for 9:30 on a Saturday. We'll be back!
We had a lovely dinner! The food was fresh and unique- the ambiance was lovely- we were treated well and not rushed. Dessert was fantastic too. We will be back!
Really top-notch experience overall. Sophisticated cooking, freshest local ingredients, we were all very impressed
A regular favorite. Small menu but recently some delicious new additions to the regular menu, in addition to their always creative specials. Really enjoyed the most perfect banana cake, vanilla ice cream caramel crunch dessert!
The service was excellent----not hovering, but always available when needed. I have been there at least 10 times and the food is always creative and interesting. This time, I was disappointed that the only fish dish was tuna, which I don't like so I ordered a pasta dish special which was not so great.
All my dining companions enjoyed their meal, however. And the warm chocolate tort was delicious!
We’ve been there on two other occasions and really liked the food. Unfortunately this third visit wasn’t nearly up to par, and based on this experience, I won’t be returning. I like restaurants that are consistent in their food preparation, portions, and overall presentation. That was not the case here.
We went with another couple for dinner. The service was fast but not rushed. Delicious food from sides to dessert. Nice atmosphere - casual but warm.
Just a great value and quality of food, service, and I like the menu. It's not generic but well thought out. It's authentic Italian but also very New American which brings in a nice twist. The cocktail menu needs work, hasn't changed in some time and is not that good. But, daily specials off menu are great illustration of a good chef. A bit dark in the back room, but overall service and look and feel makes up for it.
Great food and great service! I will definitely be back 😊
Had to change table. Originally was seated next to a back door when no one else was in the dining room and there were other free tables. Ordered chicken scarparello and chicken was very tough and chewy.
Good food , good treatment.
Did not love the corn side dish. AC blowing right on us
Delicious as always. Warm chocolate tarte was amazing !
Friends of my husband recommended this restaurant. I've hesitated for few months because menu online is so limited. But, decided to give it a try on Saturday night. It is a cute small restaurant. We were seated immediately in back room, water was poured and waiter asked for our drink request. So, service is very good. They did not have Bombay Safire gin but offered my husband alternatives for his martini. I had the Sauvignon Blanc. Was "average". We shared a kale salad which was a very large portion. But the sherry vinaigrette saturated it, and was really strong. They did replace my half and put it on the side...but was not appealing. My husband liked the chicken scamperella - was way too spicy for my taste. I ordered their special chicken Milanese - fried chicken was good, but the salad was really salty, not sure it was from the olives or other ingredients on it. So, I left most of it. If you are a foody who doesn't mind some unusual combinations with spicy or stronger accompaniments, this may be fine for you. Was lively with good service. Just not my "cup of tea".
Our waiter took a long time to come to our table and once I asked for a wine recommendation he recommended the most expensive bottle. He was not attentive and didn’t check to see if our food was satisfactory or if we needed additional wine. I don’t foresee myself going back
Good food , a little noisy,
Scallops were served cold and rubbery. 4 medium sized scallops for $35 dollars for this area and restaurant is a bit unreasonable. Octopus appetizer should be called bread crumb appetizer. Very small pieces of octopus servered diced completely overwhelmed with croutons. Worst octopus dish ive ever had. Definately will not be back.
Great restaurant - great food- great service!
Everything was perfect. The food is amazing and the people are wondering. This is the best food in the county no question.
Underwhelming.
Burrata salad had very little cheese. Dressing, made with honey, too sweet for our taste. Octopus appetizer was practically all croutons, with very little octopus. Chicken dish okay, but not outstanding. Side dishes (asparagus and kale with mushrooms)overly sauced and seasoned and overpriced. Service very good.
It was terrific but more has to be done to tell people that brunch is being served and is as great as the many dinners we have enjoyed there.
Mixed feelings. Appetizer (chicken liver pate) was very good.
Main course- Chicken Milanese was Not. First, too big and thick- should have been more "pounded" and flattened and there was way too much breadcrumb heavily fried , not delicate at all. Some cut off pieces tasted very fatty, some not bad- left about 3/4 of it and icuriously waitress didn't even ask how I liked it (or perhaps it was obvious and she refrained from getting a complaint)
Friendly enough staff, reasonably attentive- gave us corner table as requested but not even a simple "Happy Aniversary" even though we clearly noted on reservation. My wife's pasta dish too "soupy" for her taste but I guess some flow like it that way.
Overall OK but frankly, disappointing.
mid-
week service was a trifle slow, but worth the wait when the meal arrived.good , small selections of dishes. definitely a return is warranted
Too foo-foo for us. A Manhattan vibe, in little ol’ Ardsley!
