Game Description:
Bridal Shower guests are given a word that is
taboo and saying it could cost them the game.

You’ll need:
Clothespins (also fun to use are Mardi Gras beads, bracelets, safety
pins etc. )
Prize
Set-up:
Choose a word (or words) that will be off limits or taboo
for guests to say at the bridal shower. Good choices are the brides
name, the grooms name, the word “wedding” etc. Write the word with
permanent marker on the clothespin.
|
How to play: As guests arrive give them a clothespin and have
them clip it to some part of their clothing. Tell them what word is off
limits to say during the shower. If a guest is caught using the word
then the person who hears it takes their clothespin and clips it to her
outfit. The guest with the most clothespins receives a gift at the end
of the shower.
Variations: To make the game harder choose three words that will
be off limits at the shower. Write them randomly on the clothespins -
one word per pin. Give each guest two clothespins. Play the game as
before, but if you catch someone saying one of the words you can only
take their clothespin if they have one with that word on it.
When using the Mardi Gras Beads - Have one color of
the beads represent one word that is off limits. If the Bride's
first name is off limits to say, then assign the pink beads to her name.
Every time someone says her name they have to give up their pink beads.
Assign colors to the other words also - this makes it harder and much
more fun!
